A working group to ensure that 121 Care and its entities are prepared and ready to present to the Royal Disability Commission (RDC) should it be called upon to do so, has been formed.
Please note that regular updates are available on our Facebook page, which you can join to view current news.
The schedule of public hearings and community engagements of the RDC can be viewed at this link.
The terms of reference for the RDC are set out in the letters patent. It sets the scope and powers of what is expected of the Commission.
Since its appointment in April 2019, the DRC have held several workshops as a consultative process with those who have deep knowledge of the rights of people with disabilities to live lives free from violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation, as fully participating citizens. These groups included First Nation peoples, disability advocates, disability service providers, legal practitioners, and parties with the criminal justice system.
