The day to day operations at 121 Care office are carried out by paid staff including a General Manager, Case Managers, an Accountant and a Bookkeeper.

Kym joined our team in July 2013. She is responsible for the day-to-day management of 121 Care. This includes financial management, operational management, liaison with other funding bodies, service delivery and many other administration duties.
Prior to that she was a partner in a Sunshine Coast Accounting and Financial Planning firm and worked as a Business Coach. She has a Bachelor of Business. Kym is originally from Brisbane but has lived all over Australia. She now calls the Sunshine Coast home!
David has worked for not-for-profit and government organisations in the disability sector since 1985 and within both Australia and the UK. He has done various roles including: orthotics, support worker, supervisor, local area coordinator, supports facilitator and contract manager. He has an Honours Degree in Management and in mid-2014 completed a Masters in Professional Accounting.
David joined our team in April 2014 as a Trainee Accountant whilst finishing his masters and in December 2014 he became our Accountant. He volunteers for his local rural fire brigade as third officer and treasurer, a the deputy group officer for the Maroochy North Group and a wildlife carer for WILVOS.
Client Services Manager
Jo has 25 years’ experience in the Community Service and Disability sectors. Her formal qualifications include a Certificate IV in Disability and a Diploma of Disability. Jo has worked as a teacher’s aide, therapy assistant, residential support worker, senior support worker, household coordinator and national business development manager.
Jo has spent the last three years working with clients, families and organisations preparing for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
Human Resources and Administration Manager
Frank joined the 121 Care team in August 2016 and is responsible for Human Resources, staff development and training, policy and WH&S.
Frank comes to us from a state government background, where he worked in the areas of governance and risk management, business continuity and policy development. He has also worked in the private sector, with several years in large venue management and the Commonwealth hospital system.
Frank has a Bachelor in Adult and Vocational Teaching (HR major), Cert IV in Training and Assessment, Cert III in Individual support, Certified in PRINCE 2 project management and is also a certified WH&S officer. In his spare time, Frank likes to cruise the hinterland on his Ninja motorbike and is an avid scuba diver, holding a professional dive rating of Dive Control Specialist.
Business Development Manager
Rob has a diverse background in project management and holds an Executive Master of Business Administration.
Rob has been a long time supporter of 121 Care and took up the position onf Business Development Manager with the organisation in June.
Through his work with various Not for Profit Disability Support organisations, Rob understands the challenges and needs in delivering support services to those with intellectual disabilities and mental health issues in the Sunshine Coast region.
Angie comes from a journalism background having worked in both print and digital media for news publications and international commodities websites. Angie joined the 121 Care team in June 2016 as a volunteer and was appointed Communications Coordinator in July.
She has a Bachelor of Arts (Writing) and a Post Graduate Diploma of Education.
Angie’s passion is helping to make the Sunshine Coast an accessible place for all who live and visit here. Originally from Sydney, Angie has called Queensland home for 14 years and considers it the best move she has ever made.
Angie is also passionate about advocating for the needs of groups which are not always captured in mainstream media.
Ashu initially joined the 121 Care office team as an Admin Volunteer in October 2014 and after a month she went on to become a Bookkeeper. Ashu has 8 years of experience working in administration and accounting positions in various government and private sectors in India. In Australia, she worked at Lions Emergency Accommodation Centre Inc. doing admin work and at Accountancy Services Pty Ltd as a Trainee Accountant.
Ashu has a Bachelor Degree in Management & Secretarial Practice from Delhi University and a Masters in Professional Accounting from the University of the Sunshine Coast. Ashu came to the Sunshine Coast in November 2006 to study and decided to permanently migrate with her husband to Australia. She now has two young boys and likes spending time with her family on the beach.
Deb joined us in January 2015 to help raise the profile of 121 Care profile in the community. Deb is a born and bred Queenslander and has 12 years experience as a Disability Support Worker.
During the past few years she owned a car restoration business. Deb loves running, climbing mountains, weight training and yoga. She also helped train our 121 Care President Bruce Stark to play in the Australian Rugby Wheelchair Team.
Sonya has been a Disability Support Worker for 16 years, taking up the profession in 2000 following a car accident. Her brother unfortunately died in the accident and his workmate was left a quadrepligic so Sonya became his carer.
After six years working with the Paraplegic and Quadriplegic Association of Queenland, Sonya started working with 121 Care as a supoprt worker and completed her Cert IV in Diabsility.
Since 2010, Sonya has also been a volunteer at her local cricket club.
Annie became a part of the 121 Care office team in November 2014 as an Admin Volunteer to assist us in reviewing our policies and procedures. Her professional background began in nursing after having a stroke as a child and becoming fascinated by nurses and their care for people. She also worked for 121 Care as a Welfare Support Worker several years ago.
Since then Annie has been involved in all types of welfare work and employment services/life skills with people with a disability. Annie is currently working on the Able Living Program, a support group to assist people with disabilities to break free from isolation and depression. She has also successfully raised four children while having a disability herself. We welcome Annie to our team.
Deb joined us in January 2015. She is helping to raise the 121 Care profile in the community. She has been visiting various organisations to promote our services and to create collaborations. She is a born & bred Queenslander. Deb has 12 years of experience as a Disability Support Worker. During the past few years she owned a car restoration business. Former Case Manager and Safety Advisor
Claudiene has worked in the not-for-profit sector for 12 years in Sydney and Sunshine Coast. Prior to that Clau worked in the private sector in Brazil. She joined 121 Care/QLA in October 2006 and left the office team in June 2016 . Clau was responsible for the recruitment, employment and induction training of Home Care Employees and office staff. She also worked with the team assisting with quality system, WH&S and assisting the Manager and the other Case Managers. Clau has an Education degree from Brazil and a Social Work degree from USC.
Elaine has worked in the Disability sector for 12 years. Previously, Elaine worked at Steps Employment as a Consultant and Trainer 6 years and in the business sector, as a Personal Assistant dealing with finance, accounts, training and travel. Elaine completed a Diploma in Community and Human Services. At 121 Care Elaine was a Case Manager and was also responsible for payroll and training coordination. Elaine came to Australia in 1985 from England and is now true blue Aussie! She joined 121 Care/QLA in 2009 and left in June 2016.
Former Case Manager and Rehabilitation & Return to Work Coordinator
Gun has worked in the non-profit sector for over 4 years. Prior to that Gun worked in the for profit sector in Sweden. She completed a Diploma in Community Welfare in Melbourne. At 121 Care Gun assisted the office team with quality system, worker appraisals, record keeping, monthly newsletters, data input and whatever else was required. Gun is part of the Nippers at Sunshine Beach Surf Club. She joined 121 Care/QLA in 2011 and left the team in June 2016.
